GETTING HERE
GETTING TO MALAPASCUA
THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!
GENERAL INFORMATION
Firstly, you should make sure you have a flight going to Cebu Mactan International Airport. If it is your first time in the Philippines, please be aware that you must have a return flight booked or they will not let you in. They will make you purchase an outbound flight before they stamp your passport. Most countries receive 30 days initially, but if you want more you can apply for it at the immigration office in the J Mall in Mandaue City, Cebu.
Once you have arrived in Cebu Mactan Airport there are several options for transportation when coming to Malapascua Island. First, you should decide before you come if you will take public transport or you would like to book private transport so you can plan ahead. Things will run much smoother this way.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
From the Cebu airport you will need to take a taxi to the "North" bus terminal. There are white and yellow taxis. The white taxi line is usually longer than the yellow because it is cheaper. However, the yellow taxi is not much more! If the line is too long in the white taxi line don't be scared to take the yellow taxi. Once you are in the taxi, make sure the meter is on. Ask them to take you to the "North" bus terminal. From there you should take the bus going to "Maya". There are Air Con buses and non-air con buses, it's up to you to wait for an air con bus if there is not one there when you arrive. The bus takes around 4 hours to get to Maya. The other option is to take a "B-Hire" van which is also located at the North bus terminal. Just ask the staff where it is and when it is departing. This is much faster, but it is a tight squeeze if you are tall!
PRIVATE TRANSPORT
The easiest way to get here is to arrange a private pickup at the airport, or anywhere in Cebu to bring you directly here! Just contact us and we can arrange this for you. The service includes pickup at your location, anywhere in Cebu, the transport to Maya Port, and a private boat transfer that lands directly on the beach. The transfer in total takes anywhere from 3-4 hours from Cebu City directly to the hotel beachfront on Malapascua Island. It may take longer, depending on the traffic. Along the way, you may also stop to pickup refreshments or use the comfort room. For Pricing, it depends on your location.

LAST BOAT CROSSING AT 530PM! IF YOU DO NOT MAKE IT BEFORE THIS TIME, YOU WILL BE STUCK THERE FOR THE NIGHT!
If you booked a private boat with us, you will be met by the boat crew who will take you directly to your boat and start your journey to Malapascua! If you took public transport or you did not book a private boat from us, you can expect a small toll booth at Maya Port. They will ask you to sign in with your name and which country you come from for tourism statistics first. Next you will be charged 100 php for the boat and 20 php for the port tax. Total price 120 php. They will then inform you if a boat is leaving right away or if you have to wait. Sometimes you can wait up to 30 minutes or more if there are not enough people.
If the tide is low, you can expect to pay an extra 20php per person to take a water taxi (small boat) to the bigger passenger boat. This is normal, so don't be alarmed. There may also be additional 20 php charge per bag if the porters there help to carry your bag going to the boat.
